Just for Fun

Everyone loves to read a good mystery, but usually you don't get a chance to "solve" it yourself. Or how would you like to write your own mystery? I found a site on the Internet that is dedicated to mysteries and actually lets you get involved. TheCase.com ( http://www.thecase.com) is a fun website that lets you read two new mysteries every week and also gives you a chance to solve the mysteries before "giving away" the ending. You can ask for more clues when you're finished reading. The solutions are posted after two days, so you're not kept in suspense too long. They also have the past 5 mysteries available in case you miss a few.

TheCase.com also has a Mysterious Photo Mystery every Friday. Readers are encouraged to write a short mystery about the photo and submit it via email. The weekly winners get to have their story published on the Internet (instant fans!) plus receive a TheCase T-shirt. The site offers discussion groups where readers can comment on the mysteries and discuss them with other readers. If you subscribe to TheCase, you can receive the mysteries via email. The site currently has over 40,000 subscribers and it's free!

Another fun thing to do ...Internet users are now sending greeting cards over the 'net. Imagine .. today is your sister's birthday, she lives 1,000 miles away, and you forgot to send her a birthday card. Don't worry, if she has email and Internet access, you can send her a great birthday card and you won't even have to leave your house.

There are lots of Greeting Card websites out there, but my favorite is Warner Brothers (http://www.wbwebcards.com). All you do is pick a card you like, type a message to the recipient, type in their name, email address, your name and email address and hit the "send" button. The recipient will receive an email informing them they have a card to pick up. The email will include a hyperlink that takes them to get their card. Presto! No guilt trip for you, and your sister gets a cool birthday card (on time!) that she can print and save if she wants. Warner Brothers has all kinds of web cards for every occasion with your favorite Looney Tunes characters as well as hit movie characters. Best of all, it's free!

Until next time, happy surfing!
